1. Ellie didn't want those things to come into hell because she didn't want to get herself and others involved
2. This made Ellie feel guilty because she wouldn't have known if they were young or not.
3. They want everyone in the country that the enemies are taking over to know that they are in control
4. To check if any survivors are around and looting the houses and other places

Chapter 18.
5. Because of their posture and their outfits
6. Planning what they are gonna be needing for the week and making plans for how they are gonna make their way through the city

Chapter 20
7. Ellie is nervous because she likes Homer but Fi is in relationship with Homer at the current time in the book. That also leads to Ellie thinking that Fi might dislike her
8. Ellie looked back at Fi when they were in the truck, she relieved that she has taken a lot of responsibility upon herself.
9. There radios stopped working and they kept on talking to each so that they didn't realise people were coming.
